Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your", or "Customer") and Reconix ("we", "us", or "our"), governing your use of the Reconix website intelligence platform available at reconix.ai and its associated APIs, tooling, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing the Service, or clicking "I agree" during registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity, and "you" refers to that entity.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Reconix is a website intelligence platform that enables users to look up and analyze publicly accessible websites and their own web properties. The Service performs automated technical analysis including, but not limited to:

• Detection of AI-generated code and content using heuristic analysis
• Technology profiling — identifying CMS platforms, marketing tools, analytics, trackers, and infrastructure
• Consent and compliance auditing — evaluating cookie consent implementation against GDPR and ePrivacy requirements
• Security header and configuration analysis
• DNS infrastructure mapping
• Dynamic runtime behavior capture via real browser automation

The Service is provided as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, accessible via a web dashboard and REST API. Intelligence profiles are informational and intended to assist technical and compliance professionals in understanding website characteristics. Profiles do not constitute legal advice, security certifications, or compliance guarantees.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Service with reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service except as required by applicable law.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service beyond any publicly available features, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and complete
• Keep your password secure and not share it with any third party
• Notify us immediately at support@reconix.ai if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You may not create an account using automated means or under a false identity. Accounts are personal or organizational — you may not sell, transfer, or sublicense your account to another party. Team plans allow you to add other users under your organization's subscription; each user must agree to these Terms.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or suspend accounts at our discretion, particularly where we have reason to believe an account will be used in violation of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

Reconix is a professional tool. You agree to use the Service responsibly and only in ways that comply with applicable laws and these Terms.

Permitted use

You may use Reconix to look up:

• Your own websites — any web property you own, operate, or have explicit authorization to analyze.
• Client websites — websites belonging to clients or organizations that have authorized you to perform analysis on their behalf.
• Publicly accessible websites — websites openly available on the internet, for the purpose of competitive research, compliance benchmarking, due diligence, or journalistic investigation, provided your use is lawful and the website's terms of service permit automated access.

Prohibited use

You may not use the Service to:

• Look up websites you do not own or have not received explicit authorization to analyze, where doing so would violate applicable law or the target site's terms of service
• Conduct or facilitate unauthorized access, intrusion, or exploitation of any system
• Perform denial-of-service attacks or use the Service to generate unreasonable load on third-party servers
• Engage in illegal activity of any kind, including but not limited to computer fraud, intellectual property infringement, or harassment
• Resell, redistribute, or provide API access to the Service to third parties without a written reseller agreement with Reconix
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated scripts or bots to scrape the Reconix dashboard in ways that exceed normal API usage
• Attempt to circumvent lookup limits, billing controls, or other usage restrictions
• Use intelligence profiles in a manner that defames, harasses, or harms the owners of analyzed websites

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this section and to suspend or terminate accounts without notice where a violation causes or threatens harm to Reconix or third parties.

5. Subscription and Billing

Subscription plans

Access to the full Service requires a paid subscription. Subscription plans, pricing, and included features are described at reconix.ai/pricing. We reserve the right to change plan pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Free trial

New accounts may be eligible for a 14-day free trial of the Professional plan. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, you may choose to subscribe or your account will enter a paused state — no charges are incurred if you do not subscribe.

Billing and auto-renewal

Subscriptions are billed in advance, either monthly or annually depending on your selected billing cycle. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. All payments are processed by Stripe. By providing a payment method, you authorize Reconix and Stripe to charge that method for recurring subscription fees.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain full access to the Service until that date and will not be charged for the following period. We do not charge cancellation fees. Upon cancellation, your lookup history and account data are retained per the schedule described in our Privacy Policy; you may delete them earlier from your dashboard.

Refund policy

If you are dissatisfied with the Service within the first 14 days of your first paid subscription, contact support@reconix.ai for a full refund — no questions asked. This 14-day money-back guarantee applies once per customer and does not apply to renewals, plan upgrades, or add-on purchases. Outside this window, refunds are issued at our discretion for documented technical failures that prevented reasonable use of the Service.

Overdue payments

If a payment fails, we will retry the charge and notify you by email. If payment remains overdue for more than 14 days, we may suspend your account until the balance is resolved. You remain responsible for all amounts owed during any suspension period.

6. Intellectual Property

Our property

Reconix and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including but not limited to the software, analysis engine, heuristics, detection signatures, user interface, design, trademarks, and documentation. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the Service.

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service during your subscription term solely for your internal business purposes.

Your property

You retain full ownership of the data you submit and the intelligence profiles generated for your account. By submitting URLs to the Service, you grant Reconix a limited license to fetch and analyze those URLs for the purpose of producing your requested profiles. We do not claim any ownership over your lookup inputs, outputs, or derived reports.

You are free to use, distribute, and publish your Reconix-generated reports and profiles in your professional work, provided you do not misrepresent their source or nature.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your data, including lookup data and account information.

You are responsible for ensuring that any URLs you submit for analysis do not violate applicable data protection laws or the privacy rights of individuals. Reconix is a read-only intelligence tool and does not interact with, modify, or extract personal data from analyzed websites — but you should consider whether submitting certain URLs is appropriate under your own legal obligations.

Enterprise customers who require a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for GDPR compliance should contact privacy@reconix.ai.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

In plain language: intelligence profiles are generated automatically and reflect what our analysis engine detects at the time of the lookup. We do not guarantee that results are complete, accurate, or current. Websites change, detection heuristics have inherent limitations, and some technologies may be missed or incorrectly flagged. Reconix profiles are informational tools to assist your judgment — they are not legal advice, security certifications, compliance opinions, or audit reports.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the results that may be obtained from use of the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RECONIX, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS, LOSS OF DATA, OR REPUTATIONAL HARM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO RECONIX IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Termination

Termination by you

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time as described in Section 5. If you wish to delete your account entirely, you can do so from your account settings or by emailing support@reconix.ai. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without prior notice if:

• You materially breach these Terms, including the Acceptable Use policy in Section 4
• We are required to do so by law or court order
• We reasonably believe your use of the Service is causing harm to Reconix, other users, or third parties
• Your account payment remains overdue beyond the grace period described in Section 5

Where practical and permitted, we will attempt to provide advance notice of termination. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days post-termination to allow you to export it, after which it will be permanently deleted, except where retention is required by law.

Effect of termination

Sections 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12 of these Terms survive termination and remain in full force and effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, applicable law, or our business practices. For material changes — those that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations — we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect. Notice will be sent to the email address associated with your account and posted at reconix.ai/terms with an updated "Last updated" date.

Minor changes — such as clarifications, corrections, or updates to reflect new features — may be made without prior notice, though the revised Terms will always be dated. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction to be confirmed], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of [Arbitration body to be confirmed], conducted in [City, Country]. The arbitration shall be conducted in English and the arbitral award shall be final and binding.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
